Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Legros cultural Arts Inc. is a not for profit organization with a mission to unite people of different ethnicities through the arts. We produce cultural events that encourage and promote cultural diversity. Our dance company Danzare Internationale is one of our newest projects and we are very excited about the diverse group of dancers who are committed to our mission and believe in the importance of promoting cultural diversity in NYC. The group consists of dancers from Japan, Africa, Russia, Puerto Rico, Mexico, America and the Caribbeans. The dancers are encouraged to work collaboratively to create and develop new works. The company members are encouraged to work collaboratively in developing and creating new works for the group. This gives them the opportunity to develop professional relationships as well as learn about each other. Unfortunately, due to a lack of funding we are unable to hire a full-time Artistic Director to help develop this project. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves to meet people, learn about cultures and supports the arts. Though we need someone with a dance background, but most importantly we want someone who supports our mission. Duties include, planning of performances, holding auditions, assisting the dancers with choreography when needed and overseeing weekly rehearsals. We offer a monthly stipend.

Volunteers with a dance background either as a performer, instructor or choreographer. Administrative skills are helpful.
