Weekend Conversational English Teacher for Adults
Last updated on August 5, 2009

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

I'm interested in this opportunity

Many new immigrants came to America for opportunities however, many of them are unable to find it because they do not have English skills needed. For many it is difficult enough to get adjusted to a new country but not being able to know the native language of the area makes it more difficult to get adjust to this new country. So as an local Community center we UCA is dedicated in helping our community. So if you are someone who knows English, an inspiring teacher or just someone who wants to give back to our society, this is a chance to help those that need your help to improve their English; especially in this increasingly competitive world. So please join us in helping those that need the education to survive in this English dominated world.

One requirement is that you know English, and able to speak English. Many of the student are going to be Mandarin or Cantonese speakers but we hope that the teacher would only speak English in the class room; in order to improve the students listening and verbal skills.
