Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Assist the Events Manager in the setup, facilitation and breakdown of events such as corporate meetings, cocktail receptions, rehearsal dinners, weddings, birthday parties, book signings and more. Events Volunteers will represent the museum in a professional manner at all times and will help ensure that all requests are met and that museum policies are followed.
Responsibilities will vary with the type and scale of the event and may include:
Assisting with setup and breakdown of event
Interacting with caterers and other event vendors
Greeting and directing guests to event area
Managing guest registration table and coat check
Working behind the scenes to ensure event runs on schedule
Working with children and families and activity tables
Finding quick solutions to unexpected issues

Volunteers should have some Customer service experience; Comfort working with diverse audiences of all ages; the ability to learn information and apply it strategically; the ability to work independently and collaborate with staff and other volunteers; The
willingness to accept supervision and evaluation of work; and a
positive view of law enforcement and NYPD
