Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Danger Season starts Oct 1 when we see and feel the difference as temperatures drop at night. It is this time of year that warm pajamas are the most critical, and the gift of a new pair of pajamas and a new book are often the only presents the children we help will receive this holiday season.

Pajama Program gets many more requests for children in need in the fall and winter, and as donations come pouring in, we want to ship them out to where they're needed just as quickly. We need committed volunteers who would be willing to learn the few steps of packing donations, to work with Pajama Program staff and to guide other volunteers, to get pajamas and books out to children.

We open this opportunity to anyone 18 or older who can make a weekly commitment, has excellent attention to detail, good organizational skills and is comfortable working with simple computer programs that we will show you. We ask that you attend Packing Parties, which will be scheduled as needed from now through the fall/winter to get a feel for what we do before making the commitment to become a group leader. We ask that you join us now so you can get a feel for what we do. Starting in November we will work with several leaders weekly and ask that you commit to one day a week to lead volunteers in Packing Parties through the month of December.
