Volunteer Opportunity Details: |

We seek to encourage Volunteerism as a way of "give back" to communities. Our recruitment consist of professionals, housewives, retirees who are eighteen years and older with experience and a "love for people", willing to work alongside our Probation Officers, supervising persons who are assigned to either Supreme, Criminal and Family Courts for terms of three years, five years or lifetime probation after a guilty plea for various crimes committed. We also utilize volunteers that are willing to work with our youths seven through sixteen years old, assisting as lab helpers in reading, math, arts & craft, homework assistance and groups throughout our five boroughs.
Our Volunteers are given an orientation and interview prior to assignment. Once they receive an assigned placement, they are then given training by the individual Branch Chief, Supervisor/Probation Officer, Clerical Supervisors.

| Department of Probation Volunteers Program can utilize recruits to work in placement programs Monday to Friday, from 9:00AM to 5:00PM. We provide them with $2.25 carfare reimbursement. | |
