Girls Inc. seeks Self-Defense Workshop Volunteers to support the Girls Inc. facilitator in teaching the girls Self-Defense moves. The workshop volunteer will support individual girls and small groups, while the girls are practicing their self-defense moves. The Self-Defense Workshop Volunteer can share their skills and knowledge with our girls in a hands-on setting.

Interested individuals will have an interest and some knowledge of basic Self-Defense and be prepared to support the girls while the Girls Inc. facilitators delivers engaging sessions with groups of fifteen girls at a time. Potential Self-Defense Workshop Volunteers should have an interest in working with youth and be comfortable working with middle school students. Self-Defense Workshop Volunteers need to be able to hold up self-defense equipment while girls practice their moves, provide encouragement, and support the girls through their learning.

Applicants should have an interest and some knowledge of basic Self-Defense as well as an interest in working with youth. Experience working with middle school students is helpful but not required.
