Girls Inc. seeks Running Team Volunteer Specialists to support the Girls Inc. facilitator in training the girls on the Running Team. Practices occur with our after school participants at The Urban Assembly Institute of Math and Science for Young Women. The Running Team Volunteer Specialists will support and run with individual girls and small groups, while the girls improve their endurance, gain confidence, and develop a love for running. The Running Team Volunteer Specialist will share their skills and knowledge, supervise and run with the girls.

Interested individuals will have the ability to run with the girls and be prepared to support the girls while the Girls Inc. facilitator leads the overall group of fifteen girls. Potential Running Team Volunteer Specialists should have an interest in working with youth and be comfortable working with middle school students.

Applicants should have the ability to run with girls and to support and encourage girls. In addition, applicants should have an interest in running as well as an interest in working with youth. Experience working with middle school students is helpful but not required. Individuals must be willing to commit to one full workshop cycle during the ten-week period beginning in early October and ending on December 18th.
