In recognition of September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, NYC Service and FDNY launched CPR Training, an initiative to increase the number of New Yorkers trained in CPR and pledging to share their knowledge with five others. CPR saves lives, and increasing the number of New Yorkers trained in CPR can positively impact survival rates for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. CPR Anytime, a bilingual training kit, provides a convenient way to train people in CPR, and empowers trainees to educate their friends and families about how to respond to a CPR emergency.
In 22 minutes, you can learn to protect your family and friends with CPR.
With CPR Training, you can:
•Double the chances of someone surviving cardiac arrest.
•Keep blood flowing to the heart and brain until an ambulance arrives.
•Save a loved one’s life.
•Pledge to educate others about CPR.
The FDNY Mobile CPR Unit will host CPR Training sessions at your location for groups of 20 people or more. To form a group or schedule a training session for your community organization, please contact the FDNY Mobile CPR Unit at:
(718) 281-3888 or nyc.gov/fdny/cpr
¡Programas de capitación están también disponibles in español!
CPR Training is free and the Mobile CPR Unit will come to you. Trainees get to keep their CPR Anytime Training kit, which includes a training DVD and practice manikin. Once trained, you will pledge to give back by sharing your knowledge with five others.
To request a class, contact the Fire Department at the information provided above.
Please note that this opportunity is for free bystander training in CPR, not full CPR certification.

Donating blood at NY Blood Center is one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful and the facilities are top-notch. I am definitely going to donating blood a routine part of my life. posted by AvmanM on February 13, 2010 |
