Looking for a way to combine your love of movies and your desire to help those in your Bronx community? Consider serving as the movie coordinator for the JASA Van Cortlandt Senior Center! Survey seniors at the center for examples of movies they would enjoy to watch at the center, check appropriate movies out of the library, and feel good about your part in making the Van Cortlandt Senior Center a more enjoyable place for seniors to attend. Approximately 1-3 movies are shown weekly at the center, so this is a big job! This opportunity is perfect for movie buffs!
JASA (Jewish Association for Services for the Aged) is the largest community based social service agency serving the elderly in the New York area. JASA provides an array of social services to New York area seniors with the mission of enabling the elderly to live independently for as long as possible.
Interested volunteers must be dedicated, responsible, and be able to visit the Van Cortlandt Senior Center at least once a week to bring and pick up movies.
