Volunteer Opportunity Details: |
|
The 14th Street Y has entered into a dynamic partnership with Storahtelling (www.storahtelling.org), a ritual theatre company that brings Jewish texts and traditions to life through a fresh fusion of Hebrew chanting, dramatized English translation and interactive commentary. Storahtelling will be offering free, monthly programming on the 14th Street Y’s stage. But they can’t do it alone.
And that’s where you come in. Storahtelling and the 14th Street Y are looking for volunteers who can be there before, during, and after the show assisting our event staff and making sure that everything runs smoothly. Although the exact needs will vary from time to time, responsibilities may include:
-Helping to set-up food and marketing tables in the 2nd floor lobby
-Greeting guests and providing basic information
-Handing out programs and ushering patrons to their seats
-Assisting with clean-up following the ritual performance
Also, if you chant Torah and are willing to volunteer your services in that way, please let us know.
All performances are on Saturdays from 2-3pm (except where otherwise noted). We ask that volunteers please be available an hour and a half before the performance, and stay until an hour after. Your help would be much appreciated for any of these upcoming performances:
