Volunteer Opportunity Details: |
|
The Food Bank For New York City is seeking volunteers for its Adopt A Food Program service initiative. The Program matches individuals and groups of volunteers with food pantries and soup kitchens to help fulfill the mission of combating hunger and its causes throughout New York City.
Many food programs require support beyond food delivery and service, including, though not limited to grant writing, marketing and fundraising. Through a matching process based on skills, interests, availability and need, volunteers adopt a food program by committing to long-term collaborations enhancing the food program’s ability to improve the lives of the New Yorkers who rely on them for food.

We distribute food to the Jamaica, Queens community three to four times a week with the help of donations from the Food Bank of NYC and City Harvest. I am the Food Coordinator and I enjoy volunteering yearly with the Food pantry. We are open all year around trying to feed the community. We love it and I just want you know that the Food Bank of NYC has helped us tremendously and we are eternally grateful.
