Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is the oldest and largest social and educational services organization on the Upper East Side. Our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program provides high quality, interactive instruction to a diverse student body. We seek to increase students' language skills, confidence with speaking and comprehension of English. We are seeking volunteers to teach English once per week for 2 1/2 hours. The school term runs April 12 - June 24. Classes are held Monday-Thursday,9:30am-12:00pm and Tuesday and Thursday 6:30pm-9:00pm. Training and supervision are provided but volunteers will need to spend time preparing a weekly lesson for their class and writing brief summaries of student progress.

The minimum age for volunteers in this position is 21.
