Last updated on February 10, 2010

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

I'm interested in this opportunity

Are you a busy professional looking for the opportunity to volunteer and change someone’s life, but don’t have much time to spare? Wondering where your skills and experiences can make the biggest impact? Look no further…at StreetWise Partners all you need to bring is yourself and your professional/life experiences. With every job you have received, interview you’ve been on, meeting or project you’ve run, you have attained the skills to become a GREAT StreetWise Partners mentor.

Streetwise Partners is looking for volunteers to mentor low-income adults in career development and computer and job skills. This inspiring 14-week program begins in late February with locations in midtown and downtown Manhattan and Exchange Place. Programs take place on Saturdays from 12 - 2pm, or Tues/Weds evenings from 6:30 - 9pm. Each volunteer will mentor a highly motivated low-income individual and introduce them, through StreetWise Partners’ structured curriculum, to the workplace and computer skills necessary for a productive and successful career.

Please join us for an information session to learn more about getting involved in this program as a mentor, or through our one-time opportunities (resume reviews, mock interviews, etc.). Upcoming information sessions held at our downtown Manhattan offices are on Tues Jan. 26th, 7-8pm, Thursday Feb. 11th, 6-7pm. Please email Melanie@streetwisepartners.org today to reserve your spot and take the first step towards helping low-income individuals improve their career prospects and change their lives!
