Housing Works Bookstore Cafe needs volunteer baristas and bakers! If you've got experience as a barista, or if you're inclined toward the culinary arts, please come work in our delightful little cafe.

Responsibilities include making espresso drinks, serving cookies, quiche and other light fare, working at the cash register, cleaning, and other duties as necessary. There are also opportunities to bake muffins, shortbread, empanadas, quiche and more!

Housing Works Inc. is a minority-controlled, community-based, not-for-profit organization that provides housing, health care, advocacy and support services to homeless men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS.

The Bookstore Café sells donated books, CDs and records, like-new and used, all at discounted prices. All proceeds from these sales go towards support of Housing Works Inc. core programs.

We ask for a minimum commitment of four hours a week, for at least six months. Available shifts are constantly changing. Please fill out an application at www.housingworks.org/volunteer. Thank you!

Previous cafe or barista experience preferred.
