Volunteer Opportunity Details:

I'm interested in this opportunity

Centro de Educación de Trabajadores, a progressive,
friendly NYC school is seeking a volunteer Spanish teacher.

Our motto is, Educar para liberar

We need someone who can teach one evening
per week, Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, from 6 PM
until 9 PM. Additional time is needed for lesson
planning and preparing materials.

Please note that we are primarily an English language
(ESL) school serving immigrants. We also offer Spanish
lessons, as a way to promote cross-cultural
interaction, understanding, and support.

If you think you might be interested, please visit our web site,
www.CentroNYC.org, to learn more, and then email us
(info@CentroNYC.org) to arrange a visit to our school.

thank you!

Please be fluent in Spanish.

Some teaching experience would be nice, but not essential. What is necessary is a willingness to put time into planning and debriefing. We strive to pair experienced teachers with inexperienced or less experienced teachers whenever possible and to provide volunteer support to teachers at each level.

The ideal teacher is energetic, independent, and creative, with good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Teachers must commit to one evening per week, Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, 6-9PM.
