Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Progressive, friendly nonprofit NYC school is seeking a volunteer Computer teacher or assistant teacher. We are an all-volunteer organization. Our students are adults; most speak Spanish, with varying levels of English ability.

We need someone who can teach one evening per week, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, from 6 PM until 9 PM. Additional time is needed for lesson planning and preparing materials.

Volunteers must commit to work one evening per week, Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, 6 - 9 PM.

Some teaching experience would be nice, but not essential. What is necessary is a willingness to put time into planning and debriefing. We strive to pair experienced teachers with inexperienced or less experienced teachers whenever possible and to provide volunteer support to teachers at each level

The ideal teacher is energetic, independent, and creative, with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
