Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Groove With Me is always in need of volunteers to help us make our dance classes the best that they can be for all of our participants. This year we have more than 250 girls taking 30 dance classes from Mondays thru Saturdays, both after school, in the evenings, and on Saturdays. We offer Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Nia, Funk, Afro-Caribbean, Yoga, Hip-Hop and more! <br>

Groove With Me also offers a Summer Grooves program in which 75 - 100 girls receive free dance classes every day, Monday thru Thursday. These classes include Creative Movement, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Funk and more! Summer Grooves classes are during daytime hours in order to give girls positive activity choices as opposed to spending time on the street or in front of the TV. In addition we try to accommodate girls who need to attend summer school classes by offering a range of class times throughout the day.<br>

If you are interested in helping out, teaching or assisting with a dance class, please contact Meredith in our studio ASAP so we can talk more about how you would like to participate and what we may be able to offer. Most of our classes (during the academic year) are between the hours of 4 & 8pm Monday thru Friday. Although we do offer 8 classes on Saturdays. Most classes in the summer are offered between 10am and 3:30pm.

It would be most helpful if interested volunteers could send their resume and 3 professional references prior to the interview process. At least one reference should attest to prior work with children between the ages of 4-18.<br>

Before starting as a dance teacher, there is a required training period of one semester where all teachers serve as either assistants to a master teacher or as co-teachers depending on experience.
