Volunteer Opportunity Details: |
|
Rights of Passage is a long-term transitional living program designed to provide a unique opportunity to homeless young men and women aged 18 to 21, who are motivated to take control of their future. By offering a safe and stable living environment, these young adults can focus on their educational and vocational goals and prepare for the responsibilities of adulthood.
The mentor's role is critical to the personal and professional development of the residents, who in the past have frequently lacked effective adult influences in their lives.
Trained and supported by Rights of Passage staff, mentors offer the residents consistent adult relationships beyond the program, and put into perspective the challenges of a career and the factors needed for success.
This opportunity is sponsored by: Covenant House New York
