Volunteer Opportunity Details:

I'm interested in this opportunity

There is a very real need for evidence based recovery opportunities.
SMART Recovery has a solid program for those suffering from addictive behavior problems. What we need now is to start more meetings and get the word out that those meetings exist. The types of volunteer help we need falls into those two categories: Those who wish to learn to facilitate meetings, and those who would like to work on outreach efforts. THESE ARE NOT INTERN POSITIONS, WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS, AND WE ARE LOOKING FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN OUR MISSION AND WISH TO VOLUNTEER AS WELL.

SMART Recovery does not require that one be "in recovery" in order to facilitate meetings. If you are conscientious and have some basic communication skills, you might find that you will make a fine facilitator. We provide free training. As to outreach, we are always seeking those with skills and/or motivation to get the word out about what we do.
