Overnight Shelter Volunteers Needed!
Last updated on February 24, 2009

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

I'm interested in this opportunity

By far, our greatest need! Every night--in churches, synagogues and community centers throughout the city--volunteers help to provide safe, caring shelter for thousands of homeless individuals who might otherwise sleep on the streets. Volunteers prepare snacks, distribute linens and towels, clean up, and spend time chatting with guests. Volunteers stay the night at the shelter, and everyone gets a good night's sleep. Hours are typically 8pm to 6am. A one night per month commitment is preferred.

Volunteers for the overnight shelter program attend an open house that provides an overview of The Partnership, homelessness and volunteer opportunities. Our Client Service and Shelter Training is for volunteers 18 and older who have attended an Open House and wish to work directly with clients.
